VA retirement, disability and health care on hold
- Lorena A.
- Saturday, 28 June 2014
I am writing this message in regards to my husband who served this country from 1977 to 1988 and is now being basically ignored by the system when he needs them the most. He opted for early retirement due to a base fire where he was burnt over 4o %. He was due his retirement in January,2014 after turning 55, which he has not received..He is in need of OPEN HEART SURGERY, which was discovered in October of last year. He suffers from blackouts and is unable to hold down a job. When asking the VA about this they come up with all kinds of excuses. This has been a 6yr battle of not being able to drive, since being a truck driver for 20+years..He has not been able to receive any financial assistance from any federal state or local agencies. He has applied for federal disability in 2008 and has been denied twice. We are requesting that someone investigate why after his years of service and years of paying into social security and acquire work credits and proper diagnosis for disability he has not received his financial assistance or proper medical care.
Thank you in advance for looking into this matter.
