THE 100TH BOWERS FAMILY REUNION - JULY 11-13, 2014
- Edna B.
- Saturday, 28 June 2014
Dear President Barack Obama,
My name is Dr. Edna Burems and I am a descendent of Nolyar Bowers (great-grandfather). We are have our 100th family reunion this summer July 11-13, 2014. Over several months ago, I requested a proclamation from the President and I did address it to the White House address. I also extended an invitation to you and the first family to come by our reunion and witness the unveiling of the highway marker (Bust) that will be placed on Hwy. 165 in Bascom,Florida. I know that's along shot but I thought I would ask anyway....you never know. Where else in the history of American that an African American Family has held family reunions in different parts of the United States for 100 years. Our theme this year is: "Family Inspiring Family"
I am writing once again to see if we could get that proclamation by July 5th or earlier so that we can present it at the family reunion of this historial occasion. If you need addtional information....I can be contacted on facebook or by phone (213) 247-4569. The proclamation should be mailed to: Mr. Amos Pat Brown, Chairperson of the 100th Bowers Family Reunion.
