Veteran husband Healthcare

Dear Mr. President, my name is Louise Coffman and I am married to a Korean Veteran. My husband goes to the Alvin C. York, VA Medical Center. He lost the hearing in his left Ear due to the lack of correct/quick care he never received until months later. He now wears a hearing aid. It is also 3-4 months before he has been seen when he was referred. The most depressing part of the system is that he pays Medicare each month and due to the fact that the VA is a government organization, we were told by the VA they did not bill Medicare. Due to hardships, we barely make it each month, so we have no extra money to pay on his bill. The IRS has sent a letter stating that they were going to take a certain percent out of his SS Check each month till the VA Bill was paid. We have currently set up payment plans. He is a very sick man with only 10% of his heart working, he does not need the added stress of trying to figure out each month where the money is going to come from for his medical/prescription expenses, as well as how we are going to pay for milk and bread. We have been told we do not qualify for Food Stamps or any kind of assistance. Please try to change some of the system so the people who don't have much can get help.
Thank you in advance for your help and for what you do as our President.
