Dear Mr. President I'm writhing to you in regards to alimony. I married a man 3 years ago who has an Ex wife that gets over 800.00 a month in alimony. He works very hard for his money. This puts a big damper on our finances. He has to pay this indefinite or until she remarries or moves in with a male who is not a family member. They do have a grown child together he is in his 30's. We barely make it from check to check. My husband went in to his hearing without an attorney and they really stuck it to him. He thought that this is just what is supposed to happen when you get a divorce. He doesn't have the finances to fight this. Is there anything you can suggest he can do or at least get a time limit? I have been through 2 divorces and never would put an individual through this. I mean 800.00 is ridiculous to pay for an Ex. She is a grown woman that is capable of taking care of herself. I'm sorry to bother you with this, but I don't know what else to do for him. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. I would love to have a change of law regarding alimony for some kind of grace period. Sincerest Thanks Sandra Huffman.
