Seychelles Human Rights record

Dear Mr. President,
I am from a small country in the Indian Ocean called Seychelles. For years we had a socialist government under a one Party State. In 1993 we adopted a multi-party "democracy" under a new Constitution. But 21 years, and 5 elections later what we have, in my opinion is an "elected dictatorship"
In a bid to level the playing field the Real Opposition Parties boycotted the 2011 National Assembly Election. Once it became known that there was going to be this boycott a new Opposition Party was hastily put together approximately one month before the election. The Leader of this Party managed to get one seat, out of 33 in the National Assembly after a controversial judgement from the Court of Appeal dubbed "The judgement that rewrote the Constitution".
In December 2013 The National assembly voted on, the Public Order Bill that came into force on 6th January 2014 as the Public Order Act. (POA) This Act derogates from practically all the Civil and Political Rights found in the Charter of Fundamental Human Rights and Freedoms and is so restrictive of the right to freedom of speech and assembly that those two rights are to all intents and purposes non existent.
I would be grateful if you Mr. President and all those persons who see this message would write to, or email the President of Seychelles Mr. James Alix Michel and ask that this law be repealed.
