Internet freedom

Dear Chancellor Merkel,

How can Europe obtain true internet security from spying programs such as the USA's National Security Agency (NSA) and still maintain the freedom and openness of the world wide web. Please tighten up security and privacy laws, but do so in such a way that freedom of the internet is not sacrificed.

Thank you
