As i have leaved for 52 years in Uganda, in Kampala and I have seen different governments of Uganda. but whats worrying me is that my first son is now twenty-four years old but have not seen any change of leadership. I myself would much like to see a Uganda government changing peacefully but i have seen one PRESIDENT for twenty-seven years.
Where is the hope in Uganda's democracy? The president can not finish all Ugandan's need for him to go. Any serving president must have a limited period of presidency so that he/she can plan how to hand-over to another incoming president to take on the country.
Ugandans should stop selling their votes during election time in exchange of one kilo of sugar and a piece of soap. Others enjoy sleeping but without sending children to school but praise having one president for twenty-seven years.
The day you will see this country maturing in democracy is when you will see a Ugandan president handing over the instruments of power to a new president at Kololo independence ground in Kampala
The overstaying government in power depend on aid from the western governments and military aid from the super power nations. The day these rich and super power countries will stop keeping these life presidents in power is when democracy in these countries will prevail. My big call goes to the United States of America,Britain, Denmark e.t.c. as you have a big support in financing Uganda you have the same power to put conditions on thia aid that it shoud be sent to new government. thank you for posting my views, Emmanuel Kamya in Uganda
