To Whom It May Concern:

Dear Mr & Mrs OBama

The awards given award night from, Donnie Deuytch,Rosa Parks , Council Mark Weprin checks and other entities given out to students at , Martin Van Buren High School seem prejudice to me. The school gave many other students 100, 200, 1000, 2000, 3000, dollars, 5000 scholarships plagues and more. My daughter Lori Young with a 3.8 GPA having almost perfect attendance, Go’s to school in the freezing cold, blizzards, rain y, stormy, and extremely hot days goes to school anytime also works for the YWCA at Samuel F. Field even on Sundays volunteers her services, never late, scores of 90 and above Principals Honor list every grading period, didn’t get a nickel. All she ever received was free pizza or food(although she is over weight) what kind of influence do she get the wrong message playing on her weakness I didn’t want to make an issue, but after the awards I I was shocked, I felt as if my daughter was discriminated and cheated out of scholars and award funds. With her grades, scores and dedication her college fund should have been fully paid for. Young adults who do participate and does as Lori have should be recognized. At the award ceremony she was second to last to receive 2 awards all she have accomplished. Being depressed everyday not enough funds, pressured coming home many nights from meetings and evets 10pm and having to get up 5am every morning since 9th grade to the 12th grade and making all her classes. Serious what is wrong with that kind of struggle of greatness? My daughter have respect for her fellow students, peers and all kinds of different cultures of people. As a loving concern mother I am very disappointed with that award ceremony night. Please look into this matter get a list of all the contributors, how much sponsored, who were the students and why they received awards and looking at my daughters trails. I hoping that my girl will be paid for her good work and effort towards betterment. She is outstanding and something or someone should do something about this matter as I am disabled. Thank you so kindly for taking time out to review my letter of concern, please reply.

Sincerely, yours

I am disabled and a proud mother, everyone in the neighborhood, family, teachers, and citizens are very impressed with my daughter's performance. She worked and struggled very hard and I don't have the funds for her to continue college. She deserves something fair no one in my family ever been this successful in school. "Truth" God Bless you for your precious time, I know you are a very Important and busy person!
