The Honorable Barack H. Obama
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
Washington, D.C.

Dear President Obama:

I am Eflinda Bulauan Bowman, a Filipina and married to Mr. Raymond Parker Bowman a.k.a. Ramon Parker Bowman, 60 years old, a disabled Vietnam Veteran. We got Married here in the Philippines on September 17, 2012. I have two daughters who are 16 and 14 years old. I am writing to seek financial assistance for travel and medical treatment for my husband in the US. He is suffering from serious medical condition now.

He had been admitted to emergency room here in the Philippines due to severe pain and but on the next day he decided to file a waiver for release against doctor's advice because we cannot afford to pay hospital bills. His doctor at the VA regional Office advised him to see a specialist but because of financial limitation we couldn't afford to. His CT scan result shows that the doctors consider a osteosarcoma. After giving the result to the VA Outpatient Clinic here at Regional Office Manila. His doctor advised him to see an Oncologist. The oncologist that checked him at the Chinese General Hospital said that his prostate is swollen so big. His second admission to emergency room is due to severe pain, disorientation and not being able to eat. He cant sit alone. cant stand on his own, disoriented and in pain all the time. The doctors' diagnosis is bone mets with possible pathologic fracture from unknown primary. His doctor at the VA Out patient Clinic here advised him to see a specialist upon knowing this.

I don't want to loose him without doing my best for him. Please Mr. President, have mercy on my husband. He is my everything. It is tearing me apart when I see him in this condition when in fact he can have free medication in the US being being a Vietnam Veteran. He is a good person to us being a good father to my kids though he is not their biological father he loves them so much just like a real father. I hope and pray that you would take time to read and consider my letter.

Thank you very much and God bless!

Eflinda Bulauan Bowman
